TOPP & The 1992 Package Travel Regulations
TOPP stands for Total Payment Protection Policy and is a policy underwritten and issued by Travel And General Insurance Group (TGIC) that covers all financial failure requirements of the 1992 Package Travel Regulations.

If You Are Arriving From A Country Other Than The UK

Our TOPP Protection Policy is a worldwide policy that applies to residents of any country. Under exceptional circumstances we may, by prior arrangement, allow for Payment On Arrival for clients arriving from non-UK destinations.

We can quote and receive payment for our holidays in Euros and US Dollars.

The team at Elephant Island is a group of travel industry professionals who have over 30 years experience of touring this beautiful island.

Our unparalleled knowledge of the island means that we can give you first hand information on all of our featured tours (we have tried them out ourselves) and hotels (we have stayed there too).

As an Independent UK – Sri Lankan Company we have an association with of one of Sri Lanka’s largest inbound tour operators (Journeyscapes Pvt Ltd). We are also unique in having our Head Office in the UK as well as a Sri Lanka Office that is responsible for coordinating all of our ground arrangements.

We can therefore provide the back-up facilities usually reserved for larger tour operators while still catering to the individual needs of our clients.

You can have complete peace of mind in the knowledge that help and support, should you require it, is personally available to you 24 hours a day either in the UK or while on holiday in Sri Lanka.

We are also one of the few tour companies in Sri Lanka that operates its own fleet of vehicles and employ our own fully accredited driver-guides. You always deal with one company all the way from start to finish.

Your Financial Security

Elephant Island’s air holidays are fully ATOL Protected by the Civil Aviation Authority. ATOL is the government's licensing and financial protection scheme for air holidays and flights sold by tour operators and travel organisers in the UK.

ATOL protects you from losing money or being stranded abroad when a tour operator goes out of business. All licensed firms have to lodge bonds with the CAA so refunds can be provided and arrangements made for people to finish their holidays and fly home.
